Ayurvedic Yoga Massage is a technique developed in the traditional Indian style, by Master Kusum Modak. This powerful practice combines deep tissue oil massage with assisted stretches, resulting in an opening of the body and deep healing on all levels.
In each treatment, I use organic cold-pressed sesame oil combined with Ayurvedic herbs, based upon the client’s constitution and current situation. Alongside the oil - and unique to AYM - each client will receive the benefits of calamus powder.
Calamus, a root originating in India, has long been recognised in the field of Ayurveda for its exfoliating and invigorating properties. When applied to the body it helps to stimulate blood circulation, muscles and remove toxins.
Generally lasting between 60 to 90 minutes, client and practitioner work together with breath, body and mind.
Ayurvedic Yoga Massage is a truly meditative practice, which can have a number of results - from increased mobility and a sense of calm, through to recognising our true nature, as timeless Bliss.
I am so thankful to have been passed on this knowledge by my teacher, Ananta Sylvain Girard - founder of the “Ayurvedic Yoga Massage Insitute” in Mysore - who has been practicing this technique for over 20 years, and assisted Kusum Modak with several trainings directly.
“According to tantra, the body is the living temple of divinity.”
